365=1

How long is a day? I guess everyone will have a different answer as it really depends on many things. But in short, it simply has to do with how the day is spent. Someone may say a busy work day will make it seem longer. Then another may think the day went by so fast as there was not enough time to do all that needed to be done.

The same theory may apply to a week, a month, a year and even to a life time.

For our upcoming 1st Wedding Anniversary celebration, Henry has been busy this week putting together over twenty “3-D” display pictures representing an activity we did in each month since we first met about two years ago. It was meant to be a surprise for me but it didn’t take very long before I discovered this “underground” activity and offered to help.

As I was looking at those pictures which bring back the sweetest memories, I also felt amazed by the numerous activities we did together over such a relatively short period of time. And at the same time, I couldn’t believe that it has been almost two years since the day we met. I could see that the quality of life we shared was very high and I am also quite proud of the fact that our feelings for each other remain the same after almost two years.

For most things in life, and maybe naturally, the quality drops when the quantity increases. So it is particularly exciting to realize that our relationship is one exception.

It was three hundred and sixty-four days ago when I married Henry last year on June 3rd, but it feels like it was just yesterday.

  1. Lovely title and concept. Take heart that 365 days is just the beginning. My partner Simon Chu and I have been “married” for 25 years this May (we went to Tokyo to celebrate). Maybe we are very fortunate, but we found “quantity” of years did not affect the “quality” or strength of the relationship. All the best to you both, David
